A Little about The Last Goddess!
Last week I talked a bit about my superhero story, Tempest. This week, I want to give you some insight to my other story on Wattpad and Tapas, The Last Goddess! I'm always super excited to discuss anything reading and writing related, but I'm especially thrilled about this one. :D
TLG (as I sometimes like to refer to it) is about a young woman named Samara who has many gifts like the ability to create fire, make plants grow, persuade people to do whatever she asks, and many other interesting powers. Samara ends up going on an epic adventure through a new and mysterious land to help others while figuring out why she has these incredible abilities.
I started writing TLG about 3 years after I started writing Tempest, and if you have read both stories, you can see how vastly different the story styles are, including the characters themselves. I wanted to try a fantasy genre (which is one of my favorite types of genre to read). I have dabbled in other fantasy fictions, but those are still works in progress. Hopefully, one day I can show those to you too! ;) Also, I love, love, LOVE mythology-based books. It literally doesn't matter which one it is. Greek/Roman, Egyptian (<3), Norse, Celtic, Mayan... The list goes on. I have worked on some other stories based in Greek mythology, and I'd love to do one about Egyptian mythology one day, but in the meantime, I decided to create my own mythology/pantheon!
It was so interesting picking the type of gods and goddesses that would be in my world, including a creation story! Mythologies take a lot of research and creativity. (Of which I have both. I research extensively for my stories. I can almost guarantee that most of what I write, that relies on logic, is probably true.) As for The Last Goddess, I have a notebook dedicated to story notes, research, scenes, and doodles that help me put the world of TLG together. Here's a quick little sketch I did of Samara when I was first coming up with her look. (Again, please don't judge my drawing too bad! Also, you may notice she doesn't have hands. For some reason, I am not about hands or feet.)
I also find pictures of people or celebrities that match the description of my characters. I'm hoping that, a little down the line, I will be able to share with you character profiles, storybook playlists, and other sketches of places and events. But, while you wait for that, get caught up on the latest chapters in TLG (and Tempest)! Buuutttttt... since you did take the time to read this, I will give you one more little snippet about The Last Goddess. It is written in parts. I won't say how many parts I've written so far, but I can tell you that part one is coming to an end VERY soon, and in part two, things with Samara, and her companion, Aryan, get even more intense! Now... get to reading! Just kidding! Do whatever you want, but if you'd check out my stories, I'd be thrilled! :)
