A Little about Tempest!
I've always had a love for superheroes! I remember waking up early Saturday mornings to watch the Marvel Power Hour. (Did that bring back memories for anyone else? Where's my 90s babies at!?) After that it was back-to-back episodes of DC cartoons, and reading comic books until I was sleepy. I'll be honest, I still read comic books until I get sleepy.
My point is that superheroes have been a huge part of my life. So, naturally, I needed to create my own! However, being a fan, I knew that there were way too many storylines out there. And it took me a long time to determine what kind of hero Penn Benson would be. And if you are a hardcore comics fan like me, you may see many references to iconic characters throughout the story in Penn's insane wit. :)
It took a lot of time, thought, and love, but finally, Penn came into existence! At first, I didn't know who she should be, but I knew she had to have a huge love of all things comics. She had to be witty and inquisitive and an overall good person. However, like most superhero origins, she had to have a not-so-great past, and an innate reason to seek justice! And voila! Now, I had a main character.
I could go on and on about Tempest, but truth be told, I'm afraid that I'll give away much more of the story than I've published so far! :P So, I'll stop here with some bonus drawings of what I imagine Penn looks like. And please make sure to check out Tempest on Wattpad or Tapas!
